OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated February 14, 2014, and pursuant to Sections 10 and 12 of

Chapter 24 of the Acts of 1998, the Public Archives Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Bertrum MacDonald of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) and appoint Ronald Caplan of Wreck Cove, Victoria County, as members of the Public Archives of Nova Scotia Board of Trustees, each for a term of three years commencing March 31, 2014; (

b) appoint Bertrum MacDonald as Chair; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Bertrum MacDonald and Ronald Caplan in their capacity as members of the Public Archives of Nova Scotia Board of Trustees, and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
