Statute: Crown Lands Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated November 14, 2008, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 16 of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act, is pleased to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia to: (

a) subject to the terms and conditions outlined in paragraph (b), convey by deed or grant a lot of Crown land, shown highlighted in yellow on

Schedule "A" attached to the report and recommendation, containing 283 hectares (700 acres), more or less, together with a right of way 20.12 metres (66 feet) in width shown highlighted in purple at Black Point, Fox Island Main in the County of Guysborough, to the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, its successors or assigns; (

b) in exchange for the Crown land noted in paragraph (

a) accept from the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, its successors or assigns, six parcels of land shown highlighted in pink on

Schedule "A" attached to the report and recommendation, containing in total 375 hectares (927 acres), more or less, at Fox Island Main in the County of Guysborough, subject to the condition that the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, its successors or assigns, be able to certify title to the land in a manner deemed sufficient by the Department of Justice; and (

c) prepare and have executed such documents as may be required to achieve the purpose of this Order.
