Statute: Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage dated March 31, 2010, and pursuant to Sections 5, 6 and 9 of

Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia 1989, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act is pleased to: (

a) approve the appointment made by the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, of Senator Donald Oliver of Queens County, as an Honorary Governor of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for life commencing the April 27, 1020; and (

b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointment of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and indemnify him from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
