OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Premier and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs dated April 24, 2024, and pursuant to

Section 2 of

Chapter 256 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Lieutenant Governor and Great Seal Act ,

Section 65 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and the prerogative authority of the Governor in Council to use a legal instrument, such as letters patent issued under the Great Seal of Nova Scotia, to create and adopt flags and symbols, is pleased, effective on and after May 20, 2024, to: (

a) order that the letters patent in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of this Report and Recommendation be issued under the Great Seal of the Province of Nova Scotia, to create a new flag of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, to replace the current flag of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, effective on and after May 20, 2024; and (

b) request the concurrence of the Lieutenant Governor on behalf of His Majesty the King to be indicated by affixing his signature to the letters patent.
