OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General dated May 2 , 2013,and pursuant to Sections 672.38 and 672.39 of
Chapter C-46 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, the Criminal Code, is pleased, effective May 28, 2013, to: (
a) re-appoint Dr. Syed Naveed Akhtar, Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth), as a member of the Nova Scotia Review Board for a term of three years; (
b) determine the remuneration of Dr. Syed Naveed Akhtar be at the rate of $75.00 per hour, plus reasonable expenses; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Dr. Syed Naveed Akhtar and indemnify him from personal liability provided the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
