Order in Council 240/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas pursuant to clause 10(

a) of the Education Act the Minister of Education may appoint such advisory or consultative bodies as may be considered necessary by the Minister from time to time;

And

whereas subsection 11(2) of Ontario Regulation 43/10 (Provincial Interest in Education) made under the Education Act permits the Minister of Education to appoint one or more individuals to conduct an expedited review of the performance of the York Region District School Board;

And

whereas the position of Reviewer to conduct an expedited review of the performance of the York Region District School Board was established by Order in Council;

And

whereas the Minister of Education intends to appoint one or more individuals to the position of Reviewer to conduct an expedited review of the performance of the York Region District School Board;

And

whereas subsection 76(2) of the Legislation Act, 2006 authorizes the Lieutenant Governor in Council to determine the remuneration and expenses of persons appointed by the Minister;

Therefore each individual appointed to the position of Reviewer shall, for the period of the appointment, be:

paid up to a maximum of $1,200 for every full day worked on the expedited review and $600 for every half day worked provided that the total remuneration for each individual shall not exceed $50,000;

reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties in accordance with all relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board/ Management Board of Cabinet including the Management Board of Cabinet Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive .
