OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Legal Aid Act dated April 30, 2021, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 4 of
Chapter 252 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Legal Aid Act , is pleased to:
a) reappoint George Ash of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as part-time Director and Chair of the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission for a term of three (3) years commencing May 11, 2021; and
b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against George Ash and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case.
