OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Health dated May 2, 2000, pursuant to

Section 12 of

Chapter 103 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Corrections Act, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 208 of the said Revised Statutes, the Hospitals Act, is pleased to: (

a) confirm the construction of the co-located correctional and forensic facilities referred to in Order in Council 1999-165 dated April 14, 1999, on lands located at Lot 920 Burnside Industrial Park, Gloria McCluskey Avenue, Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) designate the co-located correctional and forensic facilities, including all cells, 24 cells for adult male and female inmates suffering from mental illnesses (the MIO Unit), rooms and support and ancillary spaces on Lot 920, Burnside Industrial Park, Gloria McCluskey Avenue, Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, but excepting those parts designated as a hospital, as a correctional facility; and (

c) designate the 60 rooms for adult male and female forensic hospital patients, 8 forensic patient beds in two transition houses, and support and other ancillary spaces consistent with the operation of these spaces on Lot 920, Burnside Industrial Park, Gloria McCluskey Avenue, Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a hospital.
