OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated October 15, 2025, and pursuant to
Section 18 of
Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act , and
Section 80 of
Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act , is pleased to: (
a) extinguish the right of the public to use that portion of the public highway, identified as Parcel A, and being a portion of PID 05316252, containing an area of 1,416 square metres (0.35 acres), more or less, located at or near Upper Granville, being a portion of the old Chute Road Extension, Annapolis County, more particularly described in
Schedule “A” and as shown on
Schedule “B” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (
b) authorize the conveyance of the parcel of surplus land, Parcel A, to John Ray Lawrence and Janice Brenda Lawrence of Bridgetown, Annapolis County for the consideration of $762.09 plus HST of $106.70 for a total purchase price of $868.79; (
c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to make and execute a Deed of Conveyance in such form as the Minister determines to effect the conveyance of the land herein above described; and (
d) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
