B.C. Reg. 123/2019 , deposited June 14, 2019, under the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE ACT [section 35] and the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT [section 26]. Order in Council 299/2019, approved and ordered June 14, 2019.
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective July 1, 2019,
(
a) the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix 1, and,
(
b) the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix 2.

Appendix 1
Section 1 (1) of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended
(
a) by adding the following definition:
"dietitian" means a registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act ; , and
(
b) by repealing the definition of "nurse practitioner" .
Section 73 (2) (
b) is amended by striking out " or registrant of the college of Dietitians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act confirms " and substituting " or dietitian confirms ".
Section 74 (
b) is amended by striking out " a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner confirms " and substituting " a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian confirms ".
Section 74.01 (3) (
a) is amended by striking out " or registrant of the college of Dieticians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act confirms " and substituting " or dietitian confirms ".
Section 8 of
Schedule C is amended
(
a) in subsection (2) by striking out " confirmed by a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner as " and substituting " confirmed by a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian as ", and
(
b) in subsection (4) by striking out " for which he or she is eligible. " and substituting " for which the person is eligible. "
Section 10 (
a) of
Schedule C is amended by striking out " a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner confirms " and substituting " a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian confirms ".
Appendix 2
Section 1 (1) of the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is amended
(
a) by adding the following definition:
"dietitian" means a registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act ; , and
(
b) by repealing the definition of "nurse practitioner" .
Section 66 (2) (
b) is amended by striking out " or registrant of the college of Dietitians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act confirms " and substituting " or dietitian confirms ".
Section 67 is amended
(
a) in subsection (1.1) by striking out " completed by a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner, in which the practitioner has confirmed " and substituting " completed by a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian, in which the practitioner or dietitian has confirmed ",
(
b) in subsection (1.1) (
a) by striking out " by the practitioner for " and substituting " by a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner for ", and
(
c) in subsection (2) by striking out " from a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner other than the practitioner referred to in subsection (1) (c). " and substituting " from a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian other than the medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian who completed the form referred to in subsection (1.1). "
Section 67.001 (
b) is amended by striking out " a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner confirms " and substituting " a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian confirms ".
Section 67.01 (3) (
a) is amended by striking out " or registrant of the College of Dieticians of British Columbia established under the Health Professions Act confirms " and substituting " or dietitian confirms ".
Section 6 of
Schedule C is amended
(
a) in subsection (2) by striking out " confirmed by a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner as " and substituting " confirmed by a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or dietitian as ", and
(
b) in subsection (4) by striking out " for which he or she is eligible. " and substituting " for which the person is eligible. "
