Statute: Peggy's Cove Commission Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, dated May 28, 2007, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 339 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Peggy's Cove Commission Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Murray Garrison, Peggy's Cove, as a member of the Peggy's Cove Commission for a term of two years, commencing June 29, 2007; (

b) appoint John Parker, Tantallon, as a member of the Peggy's Cove Commission for a term of two years, commencing June 29, 2007; (

c) designate Murray Garrison as Chairperson of the Peggy's Cove Commission; (

d) authorize the payment of $50 per half day of attendance at meetings, plus reasonable expenses for the Chairperson of the Commission, and $35.00 per half day of attendance at meetings of the Commission for other members of the Commission; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Peggy's Cove Commission, and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
