OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated January 21, 1999, pursuant to
Section 22 of
Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to amend Order in Council 97-147 dated March 4, 1997, by: (
a) deleting the date "February 14, 1999" where it appears therein and substituting therefor the date "April 14, 1999"; and (
b) adding the following clause (
e) directly after clause (
d) thereof: (
e) determine that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Norbert Comeau, Marlene Ruck, Mary MacLennan and Alison Scott Butler and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
