OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated August 16, 2011, and pursuant to
Section 26B of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, and
Section 8 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act is pleased, effective September 27, 2011, to: (
a) appoint Ronald MacDonald, Q.C. as the Nova Scotia Civilian Director of the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five years; (
b) fix the salary of Ronald MacDonald, Q.C. in an amount equivalent to Senior Crown Counsel SCC 8(3) on the Crown Attorney Pay Plan (currently approximately $125,065.77 annually), subject to all applicable enactments, regulations, policies and adjustments with respect to the Crown Attorney Pay Plan, which is set out in the Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Crown Attorney's Association; (
c) direct that Ronald MacDonald, Q.C. receive consideration for eligibility for amounts payable under the Crown Attorney Pay Plan for Senior Crown Counsel, as well as applicable pay for performance, annual increments, and economic adjustments provided to Crown Attorneys; (
d) direct that Ronald MacDonald, Q.C. shall receive all of the customary benefits of a Senior Crown Counsel, including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (
e) designate Ronald MacDonald, Q.C. to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
