OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Sydney Steel Corporation Act dated January 8, 2010, and pursuant to subsection 8(1) of

Chapter 456 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Sydney Steel Corporation Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Robert Abbott as a member of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2003-68 dated February 28, 2003; (

b) appoint David MacNeil of Upper Tantallon, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation, effective February 2, 2010; (

c) appoint Marvyn C. Robar of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation, effective February 2, 2010; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against the Directors appointed by the Province pursuant to this Order and indemnify them from personal liability, provided the Province is satisfied the claim or charge arising out of their activities in relation to their appointments is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
