OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated November 24, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 7, 24 and 25J of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Marian Tyson, Q.C. as Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General, effective December 1, 2011; (

b) revoke the appointment of Judith Ferguson as Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, effective December 1, 2011; (

c) revoke the appointment of Judith Ferguson as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration, effective December 1, 2011; (

d) revoke the appointment of Judith Sullivan-Corney as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (

e) revoke the appointment of Judith Sullivan-Corney as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs; (

f) revoke the appointment of Scott Logan as Acting Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, effective December 5, 2011; (

g) revoke the appointment of Ernest Walker as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, effective December 5, 2011; (

h) appoint Judith Ferguson as Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General, effective December 1, 2011; (

i) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, effective on a future date to be determined by the Governor in Council; (

j) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration, effective on a future date to be determined by the Governor in Council; (

k) appoint Sandra McKenzie as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women, effective on a future date to be determined by the Governor in Council; (

l) appoint Jeff Conrad as Acting Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, effective December 1, 2011; (

m) appoint Jeff Conrad as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration, effective December 1, 2011; (

n) appoint Catherine Blewett as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, effective December 5, 2011; (

o) appoint Catherine Blewett as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, effective December 5, 2011; (

p) designate Judith Ferguson, Sandra McKenzie, Jeff Conrad and Catherine Blewett as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

q) fix and determine the salaries of Judith Ferguson, Sandra McKenzie, Jeff Conrad and Catherine Blewett to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (

r) direct that Judith Ferguson, Sandra McKenzie, Jeff Conrad and Catherine Blewett shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; and (

s) designate Judith Ferguson, Sandra McKenzie, Jeff Conrad and Catherine Blewett to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
