OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated October 8, 1999, and pursuant to

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, and

Section 2 of

Chapter 164 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Fatality Inquiries Act, is pleased to, effective September 6, 1999: (

a) revoke Order in Council 96-52 dated January 31, 1996 appointing Dr. John C. Butt as Chief Medical Examiner; and (

b) appoint Dr. Vernon Bowes, a duly qualified medical practitioner who has special training in pathology, and is registrable in the Medical Register of the Province of Nova Scotia as a pathologist, as interim Chief Medical Examiner for the Province of Nova Scotia, on such terms and conditions as are acceptable to the Minister of Justice, for a term to expire September 5, 2000.
