Interpretation Act Civil Service Act Public Service Superannuation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated August 14, 2012, and pursuant to Sections 7, 14C and 14G of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act ,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act ,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , and

Section 20 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act , is pleased, effective September 1, 2012 to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Frank Dunn as Acting Deputy Minister of Education; (

b) revoke the appointment of Shannon Delbridge as Acting Associate Deputy Minister of Education; (

c) appoint Carole Olsen as Deputy Minister of Education; (

d) designate Carole Olsen as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (

e) fix and determine the salary of Carole Olsen to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Office of the Premier; (

f) direct that Carole Olsen shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister to the Office of the Premier; and (

g) designate Carole Olsen to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act .
