OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated February 3, 2016, and pursuant to Sections 238 and 239 of
Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers’ Compensation Act , and
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , is pleased to, effective February 23, 2016: (
a) revoke the appointment of Alison Hickey as Acting Chief Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal, made by Order in Council 2015-20, dated January 29, 2015; (
b) revoke the appointment of Alexander W.C. Macintosh as a full-time Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal, made by Order in Council 2013-24, dated January 29, 2013; (
c) revoke the appointment of Alexander W.C. Macintosh as a full-time Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal, made by Order in Council 2016-24, dated February 2, 2016; (
d) appoint Alexander W.C. Macintosh as a full-time member to serve as Chief Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal for a term of office extending from February 23, 2016 to February 22, 2021 subject to dismissal for cause; (
e) fix the remuneration of Alexander W.C. Macintosh as the Chief Appeal Commissioner at $106,340.52 in accordance with a salary range equivalent to the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC-14) subject to all applicable enactments, regulations and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC-14); and (
f) order that Civil Service benefits be extended to Alexander W.C. Macintosh as Chief Appeal Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to members of the civil service.
