On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that

(

a) the Regional Health Board Records Regulation is made as set out in the attached

Schedule 1, and

(

b) the Hospital Act Regulation, B.C. Reg. 121/97, is amended as set out in the attached

Schedule 2.

Schedule 1

REGIONAL HEALTH BOARD RECORDS REGULATION

Health records if services provided

Section 11.1 of the Hospital Act Regulation applies to a board for the purposes of the treatment of, or the provision of services to, a person by a facility or institution owned, operated, managed or funded, in whole or in part, by the board.

Schedule 2

1 The Hospital Act Regulation, B.C. Reg. 121/97, is amended by adding the following section:

Patient records if treatment or services provided

11.1 A hospital must keep, as part of a patient’s health record, records supplied to the hospital by any person that are relevant to

(

a) the treatment of the patient, or

(

b) the provision of services to the patient.
