OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Securities Act dated February 24, 2009 and pursuant to subsection 23(1) of
Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act, and
Section 42 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, is pleased to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Nicholas A. Pittas, of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Director of Securities of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission effective March 30, 2009; (
b) appoint J. William Slattery as Director of Securities of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission commencing on March 30, 2009; (
c) determine the salary of J. William Slattery to be $110,000 per annum and that the salary range for the position of Director of Securities be $110,000 to $120,000 per annum; (
d) order that the salary range of the Director of Securities of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission be adjusted annually, by the percentage cost of living increase approved for non-bargaining civil servants for the 2010-2011 and subsequent fiscal years, as applicable, and that the Director of Securities be eligible to participate in any pay for performance adjustments approved for non-bargaining civil servants for the 2010-2011 and subsequent fiscal years, as applicable; and (
e) order that the Director of Securities of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission be eligible for standard employment benefits provided to non-bargaining civil servants including group life insurance, consolidated health plan benefits, long-term disability plan benefits, vacation entitlement, sick leave benefits, public service awards and participation in the Public Service Superannuation Plan.
