section of the Local Government Act orders that, on the recommendation of the Minister of Municipal Affairs, the Municipal Administration and Certification Regulation, B.C. Reg. 83/90, is amended according to the attached schedule. 41.--1-e. t_ 5, .2000 for the Board Examiners Date

SCHEDULE The Municipal Administration and Certification Regulation, B.C. Reg. 83/90, is amended by striking out the title and substituting "Local Government Officer's Certification Regulation". 2

Section is amended by repealing the definition of "MOA " and enacting the following definition: "LGMA" means the Local Government Management Association of British Columbia. 3 Sections 2, 3, 4, and are amended in paragraph (b) (i), in each case, by striking out "Certificate". 4 Sections 2, 3, 4, and are amended by striking out "Municipal" and substituting "Local Govern- ment", and by striking out "MOA" and substituting "LGMA" wherever they occur. 5

Section is amended by repealing paragraph (

a) and substituting the following: (

a) has completed at least 2 years of employment by a municipality, regional district or improvement district in British Columbia as an officer (

i) in a position assigned responsibility for corporate administration under the Local Government Act, or as deputy to that officer, (ii) in a position assigned responsibility for financial administration under the Local Government Act, or as deputy to that officer, (iii) in a position, other than department head, that in the board's opinion is the equivalent of a position referred to in subparagraphs (

i) or (ii). 6

Section is amended by repealing paragraph (

a) and substituting the following: (

a) has completed at least 4 years of employment by a municipality, regional district or improvement district in British Columbia as an officer (

i) in a position assigned responsibility for corporate administration under the Local Givernment Act, or as deputy to that officer, (ii) in a position assigned responsibility for financial administration under the Local Government Act, or as deputy to that officer, (iii) in a position, other than department head, that in the board's opinion is the equivalent of a position referred to in subparagraphs (

i) or (ii). 7

Section is amended by repealing paragraph (

a) and substituting the following: (

a) has been employed by a municipality, regional district or improvement district in British Columbia for at least 4 years, and has served as the officer assigned the chief adminis- trative responsibility or as deputy to that officer for of those 4 years, . 8

Section is repealed.
