OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 22, 2006, pursuant to
Section 13 of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is pleased to: (
a) reappoint Charles Schafer of Waverley, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board for a term of office of three years commencing April 19, 2006; (
b) appoint Linda Garber of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board for a term of office of three years commencing April 24, 2006; (
c) appoint the following persons as alternate members of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board, each for a term of office of three years commencing April 24, 2006: Orville Symonds of Stellarton, Pictou County; and Peter E. James of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; (
d) fix remuneration of a member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board at $150 per meeting; (
e) fix remuneration of an alternate member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board at $150 per meeting; and (
f) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees and indemnify them from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
