Order in Council 201/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery established the position of Special Advisor, Consumer Protection Service Delivery Modernization to provide advice to the Minister on matters to support the improvement of consumer protection service delivery by Order dated January, 31st, 2024 made under

section 6.1 of the Ministry of Government Services Act ;

Therefore , pursuant to subsection 6.1(2) of the Ministry of Government Services Act :

The Special Advisor to support the improvement of consumer protection service delivery (the “Special Advisor”) shall be remunerated at the rate of $800 per diem for each day that they are engaged in the duties of Special Advisor, provided that the remuneration shall not exceed $100,000 for the duration of the appointment.

In addition to the remuneration set out above, the Special Advisor shall be reimbursed for work-related expenses incurred while engaged in their duties as the Special Advisor in accordance with the MBC Travel, Meal, and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other applicable TB/MBC directives.
