Statute: Primary Forest Products Maketing Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated September 22, 2011, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 355 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Primary Forest Products Marketing Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Brent Silver of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County as Vice Chair, Member at Large, of the Nova Scotia Primary Forest Products Marketing Board, effective November 1, 2011; (

b) appoint Brent Silver of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, as a person not engaged in the production, marketing or processing of primary wood products, as a Member at Large (permanent) member and Chair of the Primary Forest Products Marketing Board, for a term of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 2011; (

c) appoint Terry Pearson of Wolfville, Kings County, as, a woodlot owner who is not engaged in the sawmill industry or the pulp and paper industry, as a Woodlot Owner (permanent) member of the Nova Scotia Primary Forest Products Marketing Board, for a term of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 2011; (

d) appoint Jonathan Porter of Brooklyn, Queens County, as a person experienced in the pulp and paper industry, as a Pulp and Paper (permanent) member of the Nova Scotia Primary Forest Products Marketing Board, for a term of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 2011; (

e) appoint Paulette Marie Anderson of New Glasgow, Pictou County, as a person not engaged in the production, marketing or processing of primary wood products, as a Member at Large (alternate) member of the Nova Scotia Primary Forest Products Marketing Board, for a term of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 2011; (

f) order that Terry Pearson, Jonathan Porter and Paulette Marie Anderson be remunerated for their services in the amount of $150.00 per day and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses actually incurred carrying out business on behalf of the Board, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (

g) order that Brent Silver be remunerated for his services in the amount of $250.00 per day, to a maximum of $15,000 per annum, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling his duties as chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
