OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated February 23, 2021, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 4 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , is pleased, effective February 23, 2021, to: (

a) create a department and prescribe the name of the department to be the Department of Infrastructure and Housing; (

b) direct that the department shall be presided over by the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing who has the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to the department and who shall supervise the performance of the functions of the department; (

c) direct that all affairs and matters be assigned to the department pertaining to housing which have heretofore been assigned by or under any Act of the Legislature to the Department of Community Services or the Minister of Community Services, or to the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing or the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing; (

d) direct that all affairs and matters be assigned to the department pertaining to the management and delivery of new capital building projects, valued in excess of one million dollars, in the nature of those administered by the Building Project Services unit of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal to the date of this Order, and which have heretofore been assigned by or under any Act of the Legislature to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal; and (

e) direct that the management and delivery of all ongoing capital building projects, valued in excess of one million dollars, administered by the Building Project Services unit of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal to the date of this Order be assigned to the department.
