OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables dated November 29, 2023, and pursuant to subsection 11(3) of

Chapter 27 of the Acts of 1998, the Wilderness Areas Protection Act , is pleased to approve the designation of the following four wilderness areas by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, effective on and after December 19, 2023: (

a) the designation of 2,112 hectares to be known as Big Plains Wilderness Area, in the form set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) the designation of 637 hectares to be known as Douglas Meadow Brook Wilderness Area, in the form set forth in

Schedule “B” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

c) the designation of 3,012 hectares to be known as Guysborough Headlands Wilderness Area, in the form set forth in

Schedule “C” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; and (

d) the designation of 1,031 hectares to be known as Nine Mile Woods Wilderness Area, in the form set forth in

Schedule “D” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation.
