OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 14, 2006, pursuant to Sections 11 and 12 of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, and clause 18(1)(
a) of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Nadine Cooper Mont, of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, made by Order in Council 2004-423, dated October 28, 2004; (
b) appoint Nadine Cooper Mont as Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner for a term of office of three years commencing March 24, 2006; (
c) fix remuneration of the Police Complaints Commissioner at $200.00 per meeting and reasonable expenses incurred while engaged in the performance of her duties; and (
d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Nadine Cooper Mont and indemnify her from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of her activities in relation to her appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends her, the Province will be in control of the case.
