B.C. Reg. 51/2015 , deposited March 30, 2015, under the HOSPITAL INSURANCE ACT [section 5 (1)] and the MEDICARE PROTECTION ACT [section 51 (2) (

a) and (c.1)]. Order in Council 133/2015, approved and ordered March 27, 2015.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective October 1, 2015,

(

a) the Hospital Insurance Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 25/61, is amended as set out in

Schedule 1, and

(

b) the Medical and Health Care Services Regulation, B.C. Reg. 426/97, is amended as set out in

Schedule 2.

Schedule 1

Section 5.7 of the Hospital Insurance Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 25/61, is amended

(

a) in paragraph (

e) by striking out “ laboratory and ”, and

(

b) by adding the following paragraph:

(e.1) those laboratory services that are benefits within the meaning of the Laboratory Services Act ; .

Section 5.8 is amended

(

a) in paragraph (

d) by striking out “ laboratory and ”, and

(

b) by adding the following paragraph:

(d.1) those laboratory services that are benefits within the meaning of the Laboratory Services Act ; .

Schedule 2

Section 7 of the Medical and Health Care Services Regulation, B.C. Reg. 426/97, is amended by striking out “

section 7.1 ” and substituting “

section 7.2 ”.

Section 27 is amended

(

a) by repealing paragraphs (

b) and (

j) and substituting the following:

(

b) the Civilian War-related Benefits Act ;

(

j) the Canadian Forces Members and Veterans Re-establishment and Compensation Act ; , and

(

b) by adding the following paragraph:

(j.1) the Department of Veterans Affairs Act ; .

Section 38 is amended

(

a) by repealing subsection (1) (a), and

(

b) in subsection (2) by repealing the definition of “specimen collection station” .

Section 39 (1) (

b) is amended by striking out “ including specimen collection stations if applicable, ”.

Section 45 is amended

(

a) by repealing subsections (1), (2) (

e) and (3) (a),

(

b) in subsection (2) (

a) and (a.1) by striking out “ laboratory medicine, ”,

(

c) in subsection (2) (

b) and (

c) by striking out “ laboratory medicine and ”, and

(

d) in subsection (2) (

d) by striking out “ laboratory and ”.
