OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education dated March 23, 2017, and pursuant to Sections 3, 5 and 6 of
Chapter 37 of the Acts of 2010, the Labour Board Act , is pleased to: (
a) appoint Lynne J. Poirier of Halifax Regional Municipality (Bedford), as a vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; (
b) order that the remuneration for Lynne J. Poirier be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable for her services as a vice-chair and the alternative Chair of the Labour Board: (
i) an annual $10,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata; (ii) $300.00 per day for each day the vice-chair conducts a hearing as a vice-chair or participates in necessary training; (iii) $150.00 per day for each day the vice-chair necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; and (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling her duties as vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; (
c) reappoint Robin D. Clark of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains) as an employee member of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; (
d) reappoint Linda Power of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as an employee member of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; (
e) reappoint Wayne Thomas of Pictou, Pictou County, as an employee member of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; (
f) reappoint Sylvester Atkinson of Middleton, Annapolis County, as an employer member of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; (
g) reappoint Marie Brunelle of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as an employer member of the Labour Board for a term of office of 3 years commencing April 24, 2017; and (
h) fix the remuneration of each of the employee and employer members of the Labour Board in the following aggregate amounts, payable to each for their service as an employer or employee member of the Labour Board: (i) $200.00 per day for each day the member conducts a hearing as a member or participates in necessary training; (ii) $150.00 per day for each day the member necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board, as a member, except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; and (iii) such actual and reasonable expenses as may be incurred by the member in the discharge of their duties, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
