OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage dated August 11, 2004, and pursuant to
Section 4 of
Chapter 315 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Nova Scotia Museum Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Jeffrey T. Turner of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Museum Board of Governors for a term of three years commencing August 30, 2004; (
b) reappoint the following persons as members of the Nova Scotia Museum Board of Governors, each for a term of three years commencing August 30, 2004: Martine Jacquot of Waterville, Kings County; Lloyd Newman, of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Tom Rissesco of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; David Whiting of Yarmouth, Yarmouth County; (
c) determine that Jeffrey T. Turner, Martine Jacquot, Lloyd Newman, Tom Rissesco and David Whiting be bound by the principles and purposes of both the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and the Members and Public Employees' Disclosure Act; and (
d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Jeffrey T. Turner, Martine Jacquot, Lloyd Newman, Tom Rissesco and David Whiting and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
