OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated May 1, 2001, and pursuant to
Section 28 of
Chapter 348 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Police Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Orville Symonds of Stellarton, Pictou County, as an alternate member of the Police Review Board for a three year term of office commencing May 1, 2001; (
b) fix the remuneration of Orville Symonds at $150 per meeting; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Orville Symonds and indemnify him from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
