Order in Council 1714/2025

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Martha Lai was reappointed as full-time vice-chair of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal by Order in Council O.C. 1691/2025, dated December 17, 2025;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 173(2) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 and despite Order in Council O.C. 1247/2025, Martha Lai shall be remunerated at the “Final 5 years” rate applicable to the position of Vice-Chairs set out in Table 1 of

Schedule 2 to Order in Council O.C. 1247/2025, as may be amended from time to time, during the term of this reappointment;

Further , that Martha Lai be eligible for benefits, including vacation, comparable to the benefit entitlements of OPS executives in the Senior Management Group and be entitled to elect to participate in the Public Service Pension Plan in accordance with the provisions of the Plan;

And further, that Martha Lai be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out her duties for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal in accordance with the relevant directives, guidelines and policies of the Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet.
