1980 BILL Second Session, 19th Legislature, 29 Elizabeth II THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ALBERTA BILL THE DEPARTMENT OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS AMENDMENT ACT, 1980 THE MINISTER OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS First Reading Second Reading Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent Printed by the Queen's Printer for the Province of Alberta, EDMONTON Title: 1980 (19th, 2nd) Bill 44, The Department of Municipal Affairs Amendment Act, 1980 Bill BILL THE DEPARTMENT OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS AMENDMENT ACT, 1980 (Assented to , 1980) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Department of Municipal Affairs Act is amended by this Act. 2 The following is added after

section 6.1: 6.2(1) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may authorize the Provincial Treasurer, on behalf of the Crown, to guaran tee the due repayment of any sum, together with interest, borrowed by (

a) the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association, (

b) the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties, or (

c) a regional planning commission as defined in The Planning Act, 1977.

(2) The authorization in subsection (1) may be made sub ject to any terms and conditions respecting the guarantee that the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers necessary. 3 This Act comes into force on the day upon which it assented to. 1 Explanatory Notes This Bill will amend
