LOI SUR L’OMBUDSMAN 1.

(1) The Ombudsman Act is amended b y addin g the following section: 1.

(1) Anything that the Ombudsman may do unde r this Act in respect of a governmental organization, the Ombudsman may do in respect of, Autorisation d’enquêter sur les organismes publics désignés 14.1

(1) L’ombudsman peut faire à l’égard des orga- nismes suivants tout ce que la présente loi l’autorise à faire à l’égard d’organisations gouvernementales : (

a) a university, college of applied arts and technology or other post-secondary institution;

a) une université, un collège d’arts appliqués et de technologie ou un autr e établissement postse- condaire; (

b) a society within the meaning of the Child and Fam- ily Services Act;

b) une société au sens de la

Loi sur les services à l’en- fance et à la famille; (

c) a board within the meaning of the Education Act;

c) un conseil ou conseil scolaire au sens de la Loi su r l’éducation; (

d) a home for special care within the meaning of the Homes for Special Care Act;

d) un foyer de soins spéciaux au sens de la

Loi sur les foyers de soins spéciaux; (

e) a long-term care home within the meaning of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007;

e) un foyer de soins de longue durée au sens de la Loi de 2007 sur les foyers de soins de longue durée; (

f) the office of the Independent Police Review Direc- tor within the meaning of the Police Services Act;

g) a private hospital within the meaning of the Private Hospitals Act; and

g) un hôpital privé au sens de la

h) a hospital within the meaning of the Public Hospi- tals Act.

(2) If the Ombudsman does or proposes to do anything in respect of a body listed in subsection (1), any reference in this Act to a governmental organization shall be read as a reference to the body. Mention d’une organisation gouvernementale

2 OMBUDSMAN STATUTE LAW AMENDMANT ACT (DESIGNATED PUBLIC BODIES), 2011

(2) Subsection 14.1 (1) of the Act, as enacted b y subsection (1), is amended by striking out “and” at the end of clause (g), by adding “and” at the end of clause (

h) and by adding the following clause:

Section 97 of the Police Services Act is repealed. 2. L’article 97 de la

(1) Sub ject to subsection (2), this Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent. Entrée en vigueur 3.

Short title 4. The

short title of this Act is the Ombudsman Stat- ute Law Amendment Act (Desi gnated Public Bodies), 2011.

Titre abrégé 4. Le

titre abrégé de la présente loi est Loi de 2011 modifiant des lois en ce qui a trait à l’ombudsman (or- ganismes publics désignés).
