OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated August 30, 2000, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of

Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint the following persons as members of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission each for a term of three years commencing September 1, 2000: R. Daren Baxter of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; R. Kirk MacRae of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Kenneth E. MacAulay of Antigonish, Antigonish County; and Darren S. Nantes of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) determine that R. Daren Baxter, R. Kirk MacRae, Kenneth E. MacAulay and Darren S. Nantes shall each be paid up to $200 per half day spent carrying out the business of the Commission; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against R. Daren Baxter, R. Kirk MacRae, Kenneth E. MacAulay and Darren S. Nantes arising out of their activities in relation to their appointments and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim or charge except any claim or charge based on fraud or criminal activities.
