OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Education dated February 18, 2002, and pursuant to

Section 88 of

Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1995-96, the Education Act, is pleased to: (

a) approve the construction of a new Windsor Regional High School for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board, scheduled for completion for January 2004, at a total cost not to exceed $15,400,000 in accordance to the School Space Program set forth in

Schedule "B", attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; (

b) approve the construction of a new Truro Junior High School for the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board, scheduled for completion for January 2004, at a total cost not to exceed $10,600,000 in accordance to the School Space Program set forth in

Schedule "C", attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; (

c) authorize the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to do whatever is necessary to acquire the land for the construction of the schools referred to in clauses (

a) and (

b) in the name of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and authorize the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to tender for the necessary work to design and construct the buildings and acquire the equipment necessary for the schools as approved; (

d) authorize the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to hold the buildings, equipment and land for the construction of the schools in clauses (

a) and (

b) in the name of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of Nova Scotia while the projects are in progress; (

e) upon completion of the projects to construct the schools referred to in clauses (

a) and (

b) to the satisfaction of the Minister of Transportation and Public Works and the Minister of Education, the buildings, equipment and land for the schools shall be conveyed by Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of Nova Scotia, as represented by the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to the school boards referred to in clauses (

a) and (

b) in which the schools are situate; and (

f) authorize the Minister of Education and the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to execute such instruments as may be necessary for the purpose of this Order and authorize both or either of them to enter into an agreement with the school boards referred to in clauses (

a) and (

b) to attain the purposes of this Order.
