OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated December 17, 2008, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Michael Johnson, Manager, Programs and Business Risk Management Section, Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, as member and designate him as Vice Chair of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission for a further three year term commencing January 13, 2009; (

b) order that, as a condition of his appointment, Michael Johnson shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Michael Johnson and indemnify him from personal liability, provided the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
