Parking Regulations - Bedford By-Pass and Highway Number 101

made under

Section 152 of the

Motor Vehicle Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 293

N.S. Reg. 44/78 (January 18, 1978)

Pursuant to

Section 137 of

Chapter 191 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, [Section

152, R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 293], the Motor Vehicle Act and by virtue of every other power and

authority vested in me in this behalf, I, Fred C. S. Lee, Provincial Traffic Authority, do hereby

make the following regulations:

1 No person shall park or leave standing a vehicle whether attended or unattended upon

(

a) the highway known as the Bedford By-Pass situate in the County of Halifax,

Province of Nova Scotia beginning at the intersection of the Bedford By-Pass

with the highway known as Highway Number 101 at Lower Sackville, in the

County of Halifax, and extending in a southeasterly direction a distance of

approximately four and seven-tenths kilometres (4.7 km), to the intersection of

the Bedford By-Pass with the highway known as Trunk Number 7 at Magazine

Hill, in the County of Halifax; and

(

b) all that part of the highway known as Highway Number 101 situate in the

County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia beginning at the intersection of

Highway Number 101 with the highway known as the Bedford By-Pass at

Lower Sackville, in the County of Halifax, and extending in a northwesterly

direction a distance of approximately three kilometres (3 km), to where

Highway Number 101 passes over the highway known as the Beaverbank

Road Connector at Middle Sackville, in the County of Halifax.

2 Regulation [Section] 1 shall not apply to

(

a) the driver of a vehicle which is disabled while on any part of the highways

described in Regulation [Section] 1 in such manner and to such extent that it is

impossible to avoid stopping and temporarily leaving the vehicle in such a

position;

(

b) the driver or operator of a vehicle which is actually engaged in work upon the

surface of any part of the highways described in Regulation [Section] 1, but

shall apply to drivers and operators when travelling to or from such work;

(

c) the driver of a police or fire department vehicle or ambulance when actually

engaged in carrying out the duties of his office or employment; and

(

d) the driver or operator of a vehicle while actually engaged in carrying out his

duties as an officer, servant, agent or employee of the Department of

Highways.
