MOORE First Reading Second Reading Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent Title: 1992 (22nd, 4th) Bill 233, Daylight Saving Time Amendment Act Bill Mr. Moore BILL DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME AMENDMENT ACT (Assented to , 1992) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Daylight Saving Time Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section is amended by striking out "Mountain Standard Time" and substituting "Daylight Saving Time". 4

Section is repealed. 3

Section is repealed and the following substituted: 5(1) Notwithstanding anything in any other Act, no municipality shall adopt, proclaim, enforce, use or observe any time other than Daylight Saving Time.

(2) A by-law passed or proclamation issued by the council or an official of a municipality providing for the adoption, proclamation, or enforcement of the use of observance of any time other than Daylight Saving Time is void. 5 This Act comes into force on Proclamation. 1 Explanatory Notes This bill will amend

Chapter D-4 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta. 2 These amendments will replace Mountain Standard Time as the basic time standard relative to Greenwich Mean Time throughout Alberta for each entire year subsequent to Proclamation. 3 The regulatory and penalty provisions of the present statute remain unchanged. 1 Title: 1992 (22nd, 4th) Bill 233, Daylight Saving Time Amendment Act
