Statute: Public Highways Act Expropriation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated April 22, 2025, and pursuant to

Section 18 of

Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act , and

Section 80 of

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act , is pleased to: (

a) extinguish the right of the public to use that portion of the public highway, identified as Parcel X, containing an area of 374.9 square metres (0.09 acres), more or less and Parcel Y, containing an area of 863.1 square meters (0.21 acres), located at or near Gold River, Lunenburg County, more particularly described in

Schedule “A” and as shown on

Schedule “B” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) authorize the conveyance of the parcels of surplus land, Parcel X and Parcel Y, to John Darrell Steele and Stephanie Alaine Ettinger of Gold River, Lunenburg County for the consideration of $4,797.26 plus HST; (

c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to make and execute a Deed of Conveyance in such form as the Minister determines to effect the conveyance of the land; and (

d) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
