EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE This Bill requires that before a person may be appointed to the board of Manitoba Hydro, he or she must be publicly interviewed by a committee of the Legislat ive Assembly. section 5: 2 Il est ajo uté, après l'article 5, ce qui suit : Appointment referred to committee of the Assembly 5.1(1) Before appointing a person as a member of the board, the President of the Executive Council m ust refer the proposed appointment to a committee of th e Assembly. The committee must include at least one representative from every political party that is represented in the Assembly.

Person to be publicly interviewed by committee 5.1(2) The committee must interview the person in public to determine whether he or she is well qualified to serve on the board. 2 Notice of interview 5.1(3) Each member of the committee must be given notice, at least seven days in advance, of the date, time and place for holding the interview.
