OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated October 15, 1998, pursuant to the Public Service Act, the Public Service Superannuation Act, the Civil Service Act, the
Interpretation Act, and all other authority in him vested, is pleased, effective October 15, 1998, to: (
a) revoke the appointment of J. David Thompson, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier and Deputy Minister of the Priorities and Planning Secretariat, which appointments were made by Order in Council 97-485 dated July 30, 1997, and as Acting Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, which appointment was made by Order in Council 98-84 dated February 18, 1998; (
b) accept the resignation and revoke the appointment of Dr. Patricia Ripley as Deputy Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, which appointment was made by Order in Council 96-227, dated March 28, 1996; (
c) appoint Dr. Patricia Ripley as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier and Deputy Minister of the Priorities and Planning Secretariat and as Acting Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (
d) appoint Howard Windsor of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as Deputy Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs; (
e) designate those persons appointed by paragraphs (
c) and (
d) of this Order in Council as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act and direct that they shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of Deputy Minister; (
f) designate those persons appointed by paragraphs (
c) and (
d) of this Order in Council to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; and (
g) fix and determine the salaries of those persons appointed by paragraphs (
c) and (
d) of this Order in Council to be paid at such rate as may be determined by the Priorities and Planning Committee in accordance with the Management Compensation Pay Plan approved from time to time by the Governor in Council.
