Statute: Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act dated February 3, 2026, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 3 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Julia Cecchetto of Hants County as a member of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women, and designate Julia Cecchetto as President, for a term of three years commencing March 5, 2026; (

b) reappoint Afolake Awoyiga, Betty MacDonald and Collette Robert, all of Halifax Regional Municipality, and Veronica Merryfield of Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as members of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women, each for a term of three years commencing March 5, 2026; (

c) appoint Claudia Bowers of Cape Breton Regional Municipality as a member of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women for a term of three years commencing March 5, 2026; and (

d) appoint Maxine Mann of Pictou County and Kathleen Murphy of Halifax Regional Municipality as members of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women, both for a term of three years commencing March 5, 2026.
