OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Insurance Act dated November 27, 2003, and pursuant to subsections 16B(1), 16C(1) and (2) and Sections 16D and 16E of

Chapter 231 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Insurance Act, is pleased, effective December 19, 2003, to: (

a) appoint E. A. Nelson Blackburn, QC, of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board for a term of five (5) years; (

b) appoint Jo-Anne Nozick of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and designate her as Vice Chair of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board for a term of four (4) years; (

c) appoint the following persons as members of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board, each for a term of two (2) years: Avvie Druker of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; and James Douglas Gunn of Ingonish Beach, Victoria County; (

d) appoint Bruce Gillis of Middleton, Annapolis County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board for a term of three (3) years; (

e) appoint J. Thomas Langley of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board for a term of four (4) years; (

f) appoint Eric Schibler of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board for a term of five (5) years; (

g) determine the remuneration of E. A. Nelson Blackburn at the rate of $20,000 per annum, plus $700 per day for each full day, pro-rated at the rate of $100 per hour for each partial day he necessarily attends as Chair of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board to the business of the Board; (

h) determine the remuneration of Jo-Anne Nozick at the rate of $10,000 per annum, plus $700 per day for each full day, pro-rated at the rate of $100 per hour for each partial day she necessarily attends as Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board to the business of the Board; and (

i) determine the remuneration of Avvie Druker, James Douglas Gunn, Bruce Gillis, J. Thomas Langley and Eric Schibler at the rate of $700 per day for each full day, pro-rated at the rate of $100 per hour for each partial day he/she necessarily attends as member of the Nova Scotia Insurance Review Board to the business of the Board.
