OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated February 22, 2008, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 7 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Leo J. Cox of RR#2 Mabou, Inverness County, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board for a further 3 year term commencing May 1, 2008 and ending April 30, 2011; (

b) designate Stephen Healy of Kentville, Kings County, as Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board for the remainder of his term as a member which will expire November 14, 2009; (

c) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Member/Chair to be $150 per day; (

d) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as a Member/Vice Chair to be $100 per day; (

e) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred carrying out duties shall be paid in accordance with Provincial Government policy; (

f) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against them and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (

g) determine, as a condition of appointment, the appointees shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
