Statute: Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission Act dated March 31, 2008 and pursuant to Sections 3, 4 and 6 of

Chapter 7 of the Acts of 2005, the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Tom Calkin of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and Chair of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission for a term of three years commencing May 1, 2008; (

b) determine remuneration for the Chair of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission to be $18,200 per year; (

c) reappoint Clinton Schofield of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission for a term of two years commencing May 1, 2008; (

d) determine remuneration for Clinton Schofield as a member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission to be $3,600 per year; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
