OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Education dated November 8, 2001, and pursuant to

Section 10 of

Chapter 254 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Libraries Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint John A. (Obbie) Mitchell of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a member of the Cape Breton Regional Library Board for a term of office of three years commencing November 30, 2001; (

b) appoint Kirk Stone of St. Peter's, Richmond County, as a member of the Eastern Counties Regional Library Board for a term of office of three years commencing November 30, 2001; (

c) appoint George MacAdam of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, as a member of the South Shore Regional Library Board for a term of office of three years commencing November 30, 2001; and (

d) determine that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against John A. (Obbie) Mitchell, Kirk Stone and George MacAdam and indemnify them from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
