AN ACT TO AMEND THE BLIND PERSONS' GUIDE DOGS ACT (Assented to , 1978) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Blind Persons' Guide Dogs Act is amended by this Act. 2.

Section is amended by adding the following after subsec tion (2):

(2.1) No person, directly or indirectly, alone or with another, by himself or by the interposition of another, shall (

a) refuse to employ or refuse to continue to employ any per- 'son, or (

b) discriminate against any person with regard to employ ment or any term or condition of employment, for the reason that he is a blind person accompanied by a guide dog. 3. This Act comes into force on the day upon which it is assen ted to. Explanatory Notes I. This Bill will amend

chapter of the Statutes of Alberta, 1977. 2. Adds a new section 2(2.1) which forbids discrimination in employ ment on the grounds of being accompanied by a guide dog. Title: 1978 (18th, 4th) Bill 221,
