OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Transportation and Public Works dated July 3, 2002, and pursuant to

Section 9 of

Chapter 452 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Surplus Crown Property Disposal Act, is pleased to authorize the Minister of Transportation and Public Works to take appropriate action to implement a disposal strategy for the redundant Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio Service (NSIMRS) radios, accessories and network related equipment described or listed in

Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, effective on and after September 19, 2002 to non-profit emergency volunteer emergency safety organizations, through means, including: (

i) entering into agreement(

s) with the Nova Scotia Amateur Radio Association (ARA) to evaluate, remediate and package redundant assets for distribution in exchange for donation of 20 redundant repeaters, and payment of approximately $7,000.00 to cover incidental costs of such work; and (ii) entering into agreement(

s) with the Fire Fighters Officers Association of Nova Scotia (FOANS) and the Nova Scotia Ground Search and Rescue Association (NSGSAR) to assist the Province in the donation and fair distribution of redundant NSIMRS assets to non-profit emergency volunteer service organizations across the Province; and (iii) carry out such other related activities and enter into other related agreements to accomplish the disposal of redundant NSIMRS assets.
