Order in Council 275/2019

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas Order in Council O.C. 274/2019 made February 28, 2019 (the “Establishment OIC ”) established for two special advisor positions, namely, the Governance Expert and the Insurance Expert (the “Special Advisors”), for the purposes of the WSIB Operational Review;

And

whereas the Establishment OIC provided that both Special Advisors shall be paid such remuneration as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario to provide for the remuneration of persons who are appointed to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities,

the Governance Expert special advisor shall be remunerated at the rate of $700 per day, up to a maximum of 78 days, such that the maximum payable is $54,600; and

the Insurance Expert special advisor shall be remunerated at the rate of $950 per day, up to a maximum of 52 days, such that the maximum payable is $49,400,

in respect of the period beginning the date this Order in Council is made and not extending beyond August 26, 2019.

In addition to the remuneration set out above, the Special Advisors shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their Special Advisors duties in accordance with the Management Board of Cabinet’s Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive.
